Ingredients for cooking veal chops in creamy mushroom sauce

  1. Veal 400 grams
  2. Onions 5-8 pieces (small)
  3. Carrot 1 piece
  4. Pickled mushrooms 1-2 tablespoons
  5. Thick sour cream 1 teaspoon
  6. Potato starch 1 teaspoon
  7. Wheat flour optional
  8. Salt to taste
  9. Ground black pepper to taste
  10. Water optional
  11. Vegetable oil for frying

Step 1: prepare the veal.

Cut the veal into thin slices and lightly beat the meat with a hammer on both sides. Chops should be about the same size and thickness so that they all cook at the same time.

Roll the chops in flour and send them, along with onions, into a skillet with warmed vegetable oil (add a little cream).

Fry onions and veal over high heat for 2 minutes on each side until golden brown.

Step 4: stew the veal.

Remove the meat from the pan and transfer it to the pan, bay 0.5 liters hot water, so that in the end get the right amount of sauce.

Add the fried onions to the same pan.

Add to the meat and chopped carrots.

Step 5: add the mushrooms.

Add pickled mushrooms, it is better to take homemade ones, in which there are no flavor enhancers and other chemical "charms" unnecessary to us.

Stir everything and simmer for 30 minutesuntil the veal is soft.

Step 6: add the sour cream.

When the meat is ready, scoop out a little broth from the pan and mix it with sour cream, and then pour the resulting liquid into the pan. Shuffle.
Dissolve potato starch in cold water based on a 1: 1 ratio. Add this mixture to the meat pan.
Continue cooking over low heat until the sauce thickens.
Remove everything from the heat and add salt and pepper, if necessary.

Step 7: serve the veal chops in a creamy mushroom sauce.

When serving, veal chops in creamy mushroom sauce can be sprinkled with fresh herbs. It turns out a delicious hot dish. And as a side dish suitable cereal and vegetable salad.
